voestalpine introduces its “greentec steel” initiative, combining the renowned quality of its products with a significant reduction in environmental impact.
Thanks to an optimized production process implemented at the Linz plant, the company is able to cut up to 10% of CO₂ emissions during manufacturing.
Through a certified emission balancing model, this ecological saving is specifically allocated to the flat steel products available from the Steel Division.
It is important to emphasize that this process innovation does not compromise the properties of the materials or workability in any way. The exceptional quality and unique profiles of voestalpine steel strips remain unchanged, now offering the added value of a reduced carbon footprint.
